Kerry had above average rate of flu this winter

Kerry has had an above average rate of flu this winter season.

Latest data from the Health Protection Surveillance Centre shows there have been 656 flu cases recorded in Kerry since the beginning of the winter season.

80 of those cases were in the week up to January 3rd.

The rate of flu per 100,000 population in Kerry this winter season is 419.3, well above the national average of 352.6.

Kerry’s rate of flu last week was 51.1, again above the national average of 39.8.
