Gardaí in the Kerry Roads Policing Unit are doing more detections with fewer resources than in other divisions.
That’s according to Eddie Walsh, Kerry representative for the Garda Representative Association.
He was reacting to the Crowe Report, which found that a substantial number of gardaí assigned to roads policing, were not doing their jobs and had no interest in doing so.
Mr Walsh says the report focused on less than 20% of all garda divisions and only spoke to 90 Gardaí.
He believes there is no issue with productivity in the Kerry Garda Division:
Meanwhile, Kerry GRA representative, Eddie Walsh believes there is not a culture within the force which denies there are problems.
He says the association is always open to solving problems and hopes that the new Garda Commissioner will listen to them.
