Government TDs in Kerry have rejected claims the aviation industry has not been supported through its current crisis.

Following the loss of the PSO Kerry-Dublin route due to the liquidation of Stobart Air, Fine Gael TD Brendan Griffin says there is a fast-track tender process being looked at to reinstate it, which can be used in emergency situations.

Sinn Féin TD Pa Daly is calling for action to be taken by government today, because this does constitute an emergency situation.

Independent TD Michael Healy-Rae adds not only does the state-supported Kerry-Dublin route need to be resumed, but that Kerry Airport must be grown  by adding new routes.

Education Minister and Kerry Fianna Fáil TD Norma Foley, says the government has done its part in supporting the aviation industry, and the PSO route, throughout the pandemic.
