Kerry Gardaí are seeking assistance from the public in relation two morning burglaries.
The incident’s occurred in close proximity to each other and An Garda Síochána believe the burglaries to be linked.
The first incident occurred on Tuesday June 3rd in Scart, Gortatlea at around 8am.
The suspect forced entry to the property via a downstairs window and ransacked a bedroom.
Jewellery and cash was taken from the house.

The second incident occurred the following morning, Wednesday June 4th at Ballyhar, Killarney, between 9 and 10am.
Gardaí say the person forced entry into the home through a downstairs window; jewellery and cash was also taken from this property.
A person dressed in a builders hat and hi-vis jacket, purporting to be a trades person, forced entry to a property through a downstairs window.

Home security tips-
1. Whether at home or going out, turn on some lights, use timer switches.
2. Lock all doors and windows, almost 1 in 4 Summer time burglaries involve entry through an unsecured access point.
3. Use your house alarm.
4. Store keys safely; away from windows and letterboxes.
5. Record details of valuables and don’t keep large cash amounts at home.
6. If you have an alarm please activate when leaving the house on all occasions.
7. Lighting should be considered- the installation of sensor light could be considered.
8. Windows- more than a third of burglaries are through a window. The vulnerability of a window depends on the visibility, accessibility of the window- the quality, strength and fabrication
