A Fianna Fáil TD for Kerry says the party’s by-elections results has raised some red flags.

Deputy Michael Cahill was reacting after Fine Gael and the Social Democrats came out on top in Galway West and Dublin Central.

Daniel Ennis topped the poll in Dublin Central, the constituency of former Taoiseach and ex-Fianna Fáil leader, Bertie Ahern.

Meanwhile, Seán Kyne won the seat vacated by President Catherine Connolly in Galway West, the constituency of former Fianna Fáil deputy leader, Eamon O’Cuiv.

Deputy Michael Cahill says the results are another eye-opener for the party, in particular around the housing crisis.
