A driver in Kerry has been arrested after being caught almost five times over the drink driving limit.
Members of the Kerry Roads Policing Unit arrested the driver on suspicion of drink driving yesterday evening.
They say an evidential breath test at the Garda station showed the driver to be almost five times over the legal limit.
The driver has been charged with drink driving, careless driving and driving with no insurance and they now face a three-year disqualification, if convicted.
Meanwhile, another driver was arrested after being caught speeding near Castleisland yesterday evening.
They were caught travelling 175km on a 100km per hour zone on the N21; they’ve been charged with dangerous driving and now face a mandatory two-year disqualification if convicted.
This follows two other recent arrests for speeding on Kerry roads.
