From traditional products of the highest quality to new innovations, the winners are a diverse group that represent a commitment to provenance, sustainability, quality and flavour above all else. A Kerry brewery has won a major award at the Irish Food Writers’ Guild Food Awards 2023.

Béal Bán golden ale from Beoir Chorcha Dhuibhne or West Kerry Brewery, Ballyferriter, won the Irish Drink Award.

The brewery was set up by Adrienne Heslin, who at the time was the first woman to set up and run a brewery in Ireland.
