Kerry Distillery founder says US tariff threats are causing uncertainty for buyers

Ongoing threats of increased tariffs is causing uncertainty and making buyers pause.

That’s according to June O’Connell, the founder and director of Cahersiveen based company, Skellig Six18 Distillery.

It comes after US President Donald Trump threatened 30 per cent tariffs on EU imports, by August 1st.

Ms O’Connell believes the ongoing talk of tariffs is very distracting for the sector and consumers alike.

She says Skellig Six18 is on the market in several US states, however, new conversations to expand their reach there have been delayed by the threats.
