Kerry Dairy Ireland has announced it milk price for March.
It will pay farmers 37.5 cent per litre of milk supplied last month, inclusive of VAT, and quality and sustainability bonuses.
Based on the average milk solids supplied to Kerry Dairy Ireland in March, that's the equivalent of 41.37 cent per litre including VAT and bonuses.
If calculated using EU standard constituents (3.4% protein/4.2% butterfat) the milk price is 41.08 cent per litre including VAT.
In its March milk statement, the processor said dairy markets have softened in recent weeks, with pressure on butter and skim milk powder partly offset by more resilient whey markets.
Globally, milk supply remains strong, while steady demand outside China continues to be moderated by weaker Chinese import activity.
