Potential candidates seeking support for the upcoming Presidential election are continuing to address Kerry County Council this evening.
The candidates must receive the support of at least four local authorities or 20 Oireachtas members ahead of October's election, if they are to get on the ballot paper.
14 candidates are speaking to councillors in County Buildings today, in a bid to get nominated as a candidate to contest the Presidential Election at the end of October.
Issues including housing, healthcare and immigration were discussed.
Councillors questioned the potential candidates about what they’d bring to the table, how they’d promote and preserve Irish values and if they’d a good level of Irish.
Just three people are left to address the council.
Kerry County Councillors will decide on September 15th whether or not they’ll nominate a candidate for the Presidential Election.
