A Kerry County Councillor says an alternative burial ground in Beaufort must be sourced urgently.

Fianna Fáil Councillor Michael Cahill says Churchtown graveyard in the parish is close to full capacity, which is a source of deep upset to locals.

He said this upset is made worse by the flooding of pathways and a number of graves in Churchtown due to recent heavy rainfall.

The Fianna Fáil Councillor says a concerted effort must be made to find a lasting solution to the flooding and the acquisition of lands for a new burial ground.
