A Kerry County Councillor is calling for year-round access to public toilets at amenities around the county.
Cllr Michael Cahill says public toilets at Kerry County Council amenities should be open all year, not just during the summer months.
At the recent Kenmare Municipal District meeting, Cllr Cahill said essential services should be provided all year round, as people don’t just get the call of nature during the summer.
He added it’s high time some of Kerry’s more popular beaches are serviced by a full-time caretaker.
In response, Kerry County Council says extra funding would be needed to provide year-round services, and its applications to secure funding for this purpose have not been successful.
