Kerry County Council is encouraging members of the public to contact them if they discover problems with parking meters in its car parks.
It follows issues last week with pay parking machines accepting card payments.
Radio Kerry received reports last Thursday, June 4th, of issues with the parking meters in the long-term section of the council operated Brandon Car Park in Tralee.
Responding to a query, Kerry County Council stated there was a problem nationwide with pay and display machines accepting payments on that date.
However, the local authority says this was resolved by mid-afternoon on Thursday.
The council stated in most of its car parks there are a number of parking meters, so it’s a very rare occasion that all machines are out of order.
It added if all machines are out of order traffic wardens do exercise discretion.
The local authority added if a customer receives a parking fine due to a faulty machine, it can be appealed to the council’s Traffic Fines Section, where it will be investigated and checked.
