The local authority has been urged to investigate increased noise pollution along the N21 and N22 roads.
It follows a motion at the recent Castleisland-Corca Dhuibhne MD meeting by Fianna Fáil councillor, Fionnán Fitzgerald.
He noted that the volume of traffic along these routes has greatly increased, adding the timber barriers have begun to rot and collapse, leading to more noise.
In response, the council advised under its noise action plan 2024-2028, that ten priority routes were identified in Kerry, however, these roads were not included.
Cllr Fitzgerald responded stating it’s frustrating that councillors will have to wait until 2028 to be able to raise these areas under the plan.
The motion was seconded by Fine Gael councillor, Tommy Griffin.
