Kerry County Council is supporting a series of free citizen science workshops at Blue Flag beaches across the county.
The Seashore Explore Workshops combine beach exploration with beach cleans.
Guided by a marine biologist, participants will investigate rock pools, seaweed and the intertidal zone.
The workshops also cover coastal conservation, marine litter, Special Protection Areas (SPA), and Special Areas of Conservation (SAC).
Sessions last approximately ninety minutes and suitable clothing is advised.
All ages are welcome but children must be accompanied by an adult.
The first workshops take place on Friday, the 3 July at Ballybunion at 11:30am and at Ballyheigue at 2:30pm.
On the 4 July, workshops will be held at Banna at midday (12:00pm) and Fenit at 2:30pm.
On the 5 July, sessions take place at Maharebeg at 1pm and Ventry at 3:30pm.
Further workshops are planned for Kells and White Strand on the 17 July, Ballinskelligs and Derrynane on the 18th, and Inch and Rossbeigh on the 19th.
