Kerry County Council had 18 unfinished housing estates at the end of last year

There were 18 unfinished or ghost housing estates in Kerry at the end of last year.

Kerry County Council says these 18 estates include approximately 500 houses.

The council says half of these (250) are currently occupied and when it completed its 2020 survey an additional 56 units were vacant and ready for sale.

A further 136 units had works ongoing and are most likely now completed, sold and occupied according to a council spokesperson.

The council says its figure has reduced substantially over the years, its 2011 report included 152 unfinished estates.
