Kerry county council has announced 663,000 in funding under the Community Climate Action Programme.
The scheme will support local community and voluntary groups in delivering climate action projects across the county.
Not-for-profit organisations can apply under the themes Community Energy, Travel, Food and Waste, Shopping and Recycling and Local Climate and Environmental Action.
Applications are now open and will close December 22nd, with grants available under three funding thresholds, small grants up to €20,000, medium grants €20,000 to €50,000 and large scale grants from €50,000 to €100,000, the programme can fund 100% of eligible costs.
Minister for Children, Disability, Equality and Kerry T.D Norma Foley and Finna Fail Deputy Michael Cahill have welcomed the announcement.
The initiative is part of the Department of Climate, Energy and the Environment €27 million climate action Programme.
Eligible applicants must be not-for-profit groups based in the Kerry County Council area and registered with the Kerry PPN, or linked with recognised networks such as The Wheel, Tidy Towns, or other constituted community organisations with proper governance structures.
