Kerry councillor seeks answers from Department over two-year wait for inquests

A Kerry councillor is seeking answers from the Department of Justice on why families are having to wait over two years for inquests for their loved ones.

Independent councillor Brendan Cronin brought a motion on the matter to yesterday’s meeting of Kerry County Council.

He asked Kerry County Council to seek an explanation from the Department of Justice for families in Kerry who are waiting for an inquest on deceased relatives to take place.

Cllr Cronin said he’s aware of grieving families waiting over a year and eight months, and others waiting over two years, for inquests for their loved ones.

He says these families deserve answers.
