Kerry Councillor condemns Fianna Fáil's slow reaction to protest

Fianna Fáil Cllr Fionnán Fitzgerald says this has been one of the most challenging weeks in his political career.

Party leader Micheál Martin is facing renewed pressure from his back benchers over the handling of last week's protests.

Members are calling for an urgent parliamentary party meeting to discuss the party's leadership try and restore trust in Fianna Fáil

Cllr Fitzgerald said the people’s level of frustration was ‘loud and clear’ when the protests began.

He said that the Government package of supports is welcome, but that Fianna Fáil need to pay better attention to the warning signs:
