A Kerry councillor has accused Irish rail of treating members like “complete and utter donkeys”.
Cllr Jackie Healy-Rae made the statement at the recent Castleisland-Corca Dhuibhne MD meeting.
He asked the local authority what contact has been made by Iarnród Éireann following a recent briefing with councillors.
Cllr Healy-Rae says they’ve been chasing them for over five years for plans and upgrades at the car park in Farranfore train station.
He claims that Irish Rail are showing utter contempt and disrespect to councillors by sending different members and not replying to the council.
Fine Gael councillor Bobby O'Connell echoed this, saying it was a box ticking exercise by the company, and supported writing to Iarnród Éireann for clarity.
