Children in Kerry between the ages of 5 and 8 can now access free public transport.
It's part of the newly launched TFI Leap card, which could benefit up to 236,000 children nationwide
The move, which was first announced in Budget 2025, extends the free travel scheme up to a child’s ninth birthday.
Applications can be made online and the new card can be used on Iarnród Éireann, Bus Eireann and Local Link.
The announcement has been welcomed by Children’s Minister and Kerry Fianna Fáil TD, Norma Foley, Deputy Michael Cahill, and Fine Gael Senator Mike Kennelly.
