Kerry childcare centre calls for childcare workers to be moved up vaccine priority list

Childcare workers need to be moved up the priority list for vaccination.

That’s according to Jackie Landers of the Listowel Family Resource Centre.

Ms Landers said recent data from the HSE shows the detection rate of COVID-19 in childcare facilities is 4.6%.

She said that figure is higher than in primary, secondary or special education schools.

Ms Landers said there’s huge concern among childcare staff for their safety and she is calling for the sector to be brought up to level 4 in line with healthcare workers.
