Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service teams in North and South Kerry both have increased staff levels in the last two years.
That’s according to data released to the Irish Examiner under the Freedom of Information Act.
It shows South Kerry CAMHS has the equivalent of 14.8 clinical staff now, compared to 9.76 two years ago.

North Kerry CAMHS has increased its clinical staff from an equivalent of 11.2 in 2023 to 13.4 now.
In a report published in August 2023, the Mental Health Commission wrote there had been an increase just under 20% in referrals to CAMHS services from 2016 to 2021, without a corresponding increase in staffing.
