Over 460 additional needs payments have been awarded to people in Kerry in the first quarter of this year.
These payments help people meet essential expenses that they can’t pay from their weekly income or other personal and household resources.
865 people in Kerry applied for the payment in the first 3 months of this year, while 464 were awarded.

The figures were provided by Social Protection Minister Dara Calleary in response to Sinn Féin TD Louise O’Reilly.
