The Kerry Archaeological and Historical Society has unveiled its autumn programme of talks and events.
Topics range from the value of local history publications to the levels of violence in Kerry during the War of Independence.
An online discussion featuring local journal editors takes place this Thursday, 11th September at 7pm.
This includes contributions from Joe Harrington, of the Lyreacrompane Journal, Jim Finnerty of Ballydonoghue Parish Magazine, Dónal Hickey of the Sliabh Luachra Journal and John Downing of the Sneem Parish News.
On Wednesday, September 24th, the Kerry Archaeological and Historical Society and Kerry County Museum will announce the Kerry Young Historian for 2025.
Later in the season, Killarney Library will host a lecture on Crown forces and violence in Kerry during the Irish War of Independence.
Dr Thomas Earls Fitzgerald is an expert on the War of Independence in Kerry and will present his talk at 7pm on October 16th.
