There have been no new deaths from COVID-19 reported to the Health Protection Surveillance Centre this evening.
Nationally, there's been a total of 1,777 deaths from the virus.
The HSPC has been notified of 127 additional cases of coronavirus as of midnight yesterday (Thursday, August 27th).
Of these new cases, 52 are in Dublin, 13 in Monaghan, nine in Tipperary, eight each in Meath, Wexford and Roscommon, and the remaining 29 are in Kerry, Carlow, Cavan, Clare, Cork, Galway, Kildare, Kilkenny, Limerick, Longford, Louth, Offaly, Waterford, Westmeath and Wexford.
The HPSC doesn't state how many of these cases are in Kerry.
This brings the total number of cases in Ireland to 28,578.
The HPSC statistics broken down by county show no increase in the number of Kerry cases, this remains at 325 or 1.1% of the total number of cases.
The county by county figures cover the period up to midnight Wednesday, August 26th, and does not include the 127 additional cases confirmed this evening by the HPSC.
The time difference between the county-per-county figure (which is up to midnight Wednesday) and the national number (which covers the period up to midnight yesterday) explains why there is an apparent discrepancy in the HPSC statement where the county-by-county figure shows no change in Kerry but the national figure includes a new Kerry case/ cases.
