A water supply in South Kerry is in drought status because of falling water levels.
20 water treatment plants throughout Ireland, including in Kenmare, have been classed as suffering from drought because of the current spell of warm, dry weather.
It had been reported that water was being transporting to 17 reservoirs nationwide in tanks, including in Kerry.
In a statement to Radio Kerry, Uisce Éireann said water is not being tankered into Kenmare Water Treatment Plant, but that the local community would be updated if any restrictions become necessary.
The water utility says it is taking measures to alleviate the water shortage in these 20 areas.
It also says members of the public can report any leaks in the public water network by contacting Uisce Éireann 24-hours-a-day on 1800 278 278 or on water.ie.
