Kenmare man found guilty of threatening to kill man he believed was having affair with partner

A 57-year-old year old man from Kenmare has been found guilty of threatening to kill a man he believed was having affair with his partner.

John Foley of Kenmare town was found guilty of three counts of threatening to kill Pat Harney, and one count of criminal damage of Mr Harney's House, all in March and April 2020.

The court heard that Mr Foley thought his partner Margaret 'Peggy' Delaney was having an affair with Mr Harney.

Ms Delaney denied the affair, telling the court that she had broken up with Mr Foley two years before the alleged incidents.

The jury of five women and seven men in Tralee Circuit Court returned the four unanimous verdicts shortly before three o'clock this afternoon.

Mr Foley was remanded in custody until his sentencing hearing next Wednesday, 29th April at Tralee Circuit Court.
