A junior minister is hopeful the conflict in the Middle East won’t have an immediate impact on fuel prices here.

Fianna Fáil’s Christopher O’Sullivan is Minister of State in the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage.

He says Ireland is part of a group of countries which have reserves of oil and gas, but the government will try to cushion the impact of any potential increases in fuel prices on the people of Ireland.
