Irish Rail says it’s not possible to book any tickets at stations for Sunday’s All-Ireland final.
Radio Kerry was notified by a listener that they tried to book a ticket from Rathmore travelling to Heuston Station on Sunday morning at eight minutes past eight.
The Íarnród Éireann website stated that it wasn’t possible to book the ticket online and that such tickets could only be bought at Rathmore station.
The listener travelled to Rathmore where they were told it wasn’t possible to buy a ticket there.
When contacted by Radio Kerry, Íarnród Éireann says it’s not possible to book any trains for All-Ireland Final Sunday at the station and that the company is correcting the information online.
Irish Rail says for both scheduled and special services for Kerry fans, all trains will only be bookable online in advance and no tickets will be available at stations – in advance or on the day.
Íarnród Eireann says it always does its utmost to operate as many trains as it can.
It adds that regardless of how many additional trains operate, Irish Rail fully expects any additional services to sell out more or less instantly.
