Staff and students at Munster Technological University are being encouraged to foster puppies before they become guide dogs.
MTU is working in partnership with the Irish Guide Dogs for the Blind, and hopes students and staff will take in puppies to help socialise them ahead of their full-time training.
Meanwhile, temporary boarders will provide short-term care for dogs in training.

MTU’s Bishopstown campus in Cork is being used as training routes for guide dogs.
Plans to extend the initiative to MTU's six other campus locations including Kerry in the coming months.
