An Ireland South MEP has highlighted Kerry as one of the regions with ‘dangerously’ low levels of traffic policing.

Figures obtained by the EU transport MEP show that there are currently 21 Gardaí in Kerry working specifically on road policing.
Nationally, there are 649 gardaí working in traffic policing - down from just over a thousand in 2009
