An Ireland South MEP is calling for a zero-tolerance approach to shoplifters in Kerry.
Figures obtained by Fianna Fáil MEP, Cynthia Ní Mhurchú, show there has been a 108% rise in shoplifting incidents in the county over the past 20 years.
The stats show over 700 (707) such offences were recorded in the Kerry Garda Division last year; which represented a drop of over 10% on the previous year.
