Ireland South MEP calls for increased funding for Kerry Airport

An Ireland South MEP has called for increased funding for Kerry Aiport.

Cynthia Ní Mhurchú, who’s on the EU’s Transport Committee, described the airport as vital to the regions economic prospects.

A recent Airports Council International (ACI) report warned that European airports face a €360 billion infrastructure investment gap.

Last week, €45 million was announced between several regional airports including Kerry.

The Fianna Fáil MEP said while supports under the Regional Airports Programme (RAP) are welcome she believes it can be restrictive.

She is urging the Transport Minister to increase funding to support critical infrastructure and growth at Kerry Airport.
