The National Parks and Wildlife Service will deploy increased patrols in Killarney National Park in order to reduce wildfires this weekend.

The NPWS will work with Gardai and Fire Services to monitor National Parks across the country over the Easter period for early detection and deterrence purposes.

The Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage say the NPWS will continue to provide aerial surveillance at some National Parks in Ireland.
