Over half of the Garda Stations in Kerry recorded an increase in crime last year compared to pre-pandemic levels.
The figures, reported by the Irish Independent, are based on official crime figures published by the Central Statistics office and An Garda Síochána.
It shows that the crime levels recorded at 52% of garda stations nationwide exceed the levels recorded in 2019.
Nationally, the increase has largely been driven by a rise in thefts and public order offences.
According to the report 15 out of 26 Garda stations in Kerry recorded higher levels of crime in 2024 compared to pre-covid years.
Garda Stations in Annascaul, Ardfert, Barraduff, Castlegregory, Castleisland, Castlemaine, Farranfore, Kenmare, Killorglin, Knocknagoshel, Lixnaw, Portmagee, Sneem, Tarbert and Waterville all recorded a jump in crime levels.
The figures show incident rates at four stations in the county remained unchanged over the period, with Ballybunion, Ballyduff and Rathmore recording the same figure of reported crimes in 2019 and 2024.
Over 2,200 crime incidents were recorded in Tralee Garda Station last year and also in 2019.
Recorded crimes dropped in seven stations in Kerry, with Killarney Garda Station registering a 25% decrease over the period.
Other stations to record a decrease include Ballyferriter, Ballyheigue, Cahersiveen, Dingle, Glenbeigh and Listowel.
