The HSE has confirmed that additional beds have opened at the West Kerry Community Hospital.
Two beds opened at Ospidéal Pobail Corca Dhuibhne on Monday, with a further two beds expected to open in the coming week.
In a statement to Radio Kerry, the HSE South West says there is no confirmed timeline for the opening of additional beds in Kenmare Community Nursing Unit.
It was speculated that seven additional beds were to become available in the facility, however, the HSE says updates on these will be provided once timelines are confirmed
A spokesperson says it remains committed to maximising available capacity and continues active recruitment.
The additional beds have been welcomed by Independent TD Danny Healy-Rae, and Fianna Fáil Deputy Michael Cahill.
