The national housing charity Threshold says it prevented 243 Kerry households from becoming homeless last year.
The charity has launched its annual report for 2024, which showed it had an increase in activity in assisting tenants compared to previous years.
Threshold supported over 19,400 households last year, including 726 households in Kerry, while it prevented 243 of these households from entering homelessness.
The charity says the main reason renters are reaching out is still tenancy termination, mainly due to landlords selling the property.
Threshold says more work is required on renter protections, including greater transparency in the private rental sector, and stronger security of tenure.
