The cost of buying a home in Kerry increased by 16% in the year to January.
That’s according to the CSO’s Residential Property Price Index for the first month of the year.
It shows the average price of purchasing a home in the county was €292,750, up from over €252,000 (€252,250) in January last year.
Prices soared across all Eircodes in the county, with houses in the V93 – Killarney area, up 13.5% to €335,000.
Dwellings in the V23 – Cahersiveen region, jumped by 22% to over €286,000 (€286,500), while homes in both the V92 (Tralee) and V31 (Listowel) Eircodes rose by almost 20%.
Meanwhile, houses with a P51 Eircode cost on average €270,000 at the end of January, a 5.8% increase; while residential properties in the V94 area (which includes Abbeyfeale, Athea and Glen) jumped by almost 14%.
