A man is being questioned at Castleisland Garda Station this morning in relation to the Michael Gaine homicide investigation.
Radio Kerry News understands American Michael Kelley was arrested in Tralee at 7.30 this morning and brought in for questioning; he had already been arrested but released without charge last May in relation to the Kenmare farmer’s death.
The man, who is in his fifties, is currently detained for questioning under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.
This law gives An Garda Síochána powers to detain and question someone for up to six hours.
A senior officer can extend this for another six hours if needed, for a total of twelve hours.
Michael Gaine went missing from his home in Carrig East near Kenmare on 20th March last year, and in May, human remains found on his farm, were identified as those of Mr Gaine.
