A historian is critical of the State's commemoration of the 1922-23 Irish Civil War.
Professor Emeritus of Dublin City University, Dr Colum Kenny, says the government appears to be downplaying centenary commemorations of the event.
He says the State needs to confront it, particularly violent events that occurred in Kerry such as the Ballyseedy Massacre, the centenary of which will be next March.
