The health watchdog has found a Kerry IPAS centre has varying levels of compliance.
Park Lodge in Killarney was inspected across eleven areas and 27 standards during two unannounced inspections in February.
It was found to be non-compliant across four standards, including residents protection from neglect and abuse; review of adverse events; reception needs; and having a reception officer.
Park Lodge was among eight IPAS centres, formerly known as Direct Provision, inspected by HIQA recently.
HIQA inspected six centres in Munster, one in Louth and another in Galway.
Five out of the seven centres assessed were found to be fully compliant with the health watchdog's standards.
However, one in Louth and another in Kerry had varying levels of compliance.
HIQA said non compliance were found in areas including contingency planning and emergency preparedness, safeguarding, accommodation and response to additional needs.
Providers were required to demonstrate how they will make improvements and come within compliance.
Good practices were found such as cooking facilities, as well as accommodating children - such as with access to education and playgrounds.
