Highest average temperature for February recorded at Valentia

Valentia Observatory recorded the highest average temperature for February in the country.

Met Éireann says the south Kerry weather station had an average temperature for the month of 7.8 degrees.

Valentia had the lowest monthly total for sunshine with just over 50 hours recorded.

There were 20 wet days and ten wet days with over 228 millimetres of rainfall; that's twice the average February rainfall at Valentia.
