Ireland has the most overcrowded primary classrooms in the EU, with over 335,000 children in classes of over 25.

According to the Irish Independent, Fingal County Council in Dublin has the highest number in Ireland of primary pupils in classes of 25 or more at 76.3%.

Cork County Council has the lowest rate at 49.2%, while in Kerry, 56.3% of primary pupils are in classes of 25 or more.
