107 Kerry farmers have applied to join the most recent round of the Organic Farming Scheme.
It provides financial support to farmers to encourage production of organic foods.
Green Party local election candidate for the Kenmare LEA, Cleo Murphy, says the number of Kerry farmers switching to organic practices is hugely encouraging.

She says the scheme allows a more sustainable livelihood, better quality food for consumers and it bodes well for the future.
