Farmers and landowners near Sneem are being asked to check sheds and outbuildings for a man in his 70s who is missing from the area.
Jeremiah Downing was reportedly last seen on the N70 on the evening of New Year’s Eve, and his family are very concerned for his well-being.
72-year-old Jeremiah Downing is described as being over six foot in height, with medium build, grey hair, and blue eyes.
He was reportedly last seen on the N70 road between Castlecove and Sneem at approximately 5pm on New Year’s Eve.
When last seen, he was wearing dark clothing, including a brown jacket and dark trousers.
Gardaí say that due to a recent medical incident, they and Jeremiah’s family are very concerned for his well-being.
They’re appealing to farmers and landowners in the area to check any sheds, outbuildings, or other remote buildings on their lands for Jeremiah.
Gardaí are asking anyone who travelled on the N70 between Castlecove and Sneem from 3pm onwards on New Year’s Eve and who may have dash-cam footage or saw a pedestrian, to contact them.
Gardaí say Jeremiah is also known to frequent the Castlecove area.
