Gardaí are seeking the public’s help to find a young man who caused €9,000 worth of damage to the glass Rose Wall in Tralee town park.
Gardaí say the suspect was throwing stones at the Rose Wall, which is a series of glass panels in the town park on which the former Roses of Tralee are inscribed.
The Rose Wall was unveiled in 2013, and surrounds a life-size bronze statue of the original Rose of Tralee Mary O’Connor, and the author of the Rose of Tralee ballad William Pembroke Mulchinock.
One panel was shattered, and gardaí say the estimated cost to replace it is around €9,000.
The incident happened on Tuesday at around 5:40pm.
The suspect is being described as a young male wearing blue shorts and a t-shirt, and gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to contact Tralee garda station.
