Gardaí investigating fire at Banna beach lifeguard hut

Gardaí are investigating a fire at the lifeguard hut on Banna beach.

Limerick Fire Control tasked two units to the fire just before 4am this morning.

They extinguished the fire and departed the scene shortly after 5:30am.

No injuries were reported, and gardaí say investigations are ongoing.

The scene is currently preserved for a forensic examination, but there is no disruption to the Kerry County Council lifeguard service, as they will operate as normal from a temporary base on Banna beach.
