Gardaí have closed Banna Beach to the public this afternoon.
Large crowds were present at the beach and as a result there was heavy traffic congestion in the area.
Gardaí from Tralee Garda Station attended the scene and decided to close the beach for the remainder of the day to ensure safety.

Meanwhile, the Rescue 115 helicopter was tasked to Banna beach just before half 2, following reports of a missing three-year-old child.
Valentia Coastguard coordinated the search which also involved Banna Rescue and the Gardaí; the child has since been found safe and well.
