Gardaí say that they cannot comment on third party reports on the Michael Gaine homocide investigation.
Reports in this morning's Sunday Independent stated that Gardaí have reconsidered their investigation with regards to the weapon or weapons that may have contributed to the death of the Kenmare man.
The article alludes that forensic tests have indicated two blades were used, included one with a serrated edge.
Mr Gaine went missing from his home in Carraig East on March 20th and his case was upgraded to a homicide investigation in late April.
In May human remains which were found on his farm, were identified as those of Michael Gaine.
The article also makes claims about the presence of so called "murder tourists", to get close to the farm for photos and videos.
It's reported that locals have complained about this "ghoulish" behaviour, and that Gardaí have had to place parking cones to keep vehicles away.
However, Gardaí say that they cannot comment on today's media report, or any third party publication.
